Alpaca walking is included in all our experiences. The walk is approximately 15-20 minute at a steady pace, and follows a very picturesque streamside route. The terrain is not flat as we are positioned on a hill, there are parts of the route that are down and uphill and some areas are a little uneven under foot.
Our lambs are currently very young so their feed times are currently every 3-4 hours, this means during bookings in April we can offer bottle feeding our lambs as part of every experience.
As they grow, their feeding schedules will be adjusted and we will update this information regularly to advise which time slots the bottle feeding will be carried out to avoid disappointment should this part of the experience be of keen interest to you.
When feeding schedules change, all experiences will still include meeting and having a cuddle with our little lambs.
We find our experiences are best suited to adults and children over 6 years of age due to the hands on nature of the experience and the alpaca trail terrain. We are happy to accommodate younger children although they may not be able to participate in certain elements of experience and may be asked to accompany an adult when alpaca walking for safety reasons.
Our experiences are outdoor experiences, therefore dress appropriately.
A raincoat, gloves and hat is recommended on cooler days, it can be quite breezy on our farm.
Similarly, on warmer days a sun hat is a good idea for the kids.
We have an area to store your coats etc should require this on this on the day.
After all, no one wants to be carrying a coat when there's animals to be stroked!
Suitable footwear MUST be worn, we suggest wellies or walking boots.
Parts of the alpaca walk can be muddy at all times of the year regardless of the weather.
You will be asked to use the foot dip on entrance and exit. This is a shallow container filled with disinfectant solution which helps prevent the spread of diseases like Avian Flu and Foot-and-Mouth disease.
Guests will NOT be permitted to enter animal enclosures with open toe shoes.
Please only arrive a maximum of 10 minutes prior to your booked experience time. This ensures a member of staff will be there to greet you on arrival and escort you down to the farm. A safety briefing will be given on arrival.
Yes, we have 2 parking spaces dedicated for our farm guests. These are facing the metal gate on the farm entrance. We kindly ask that vehicles are only parked in the designated spaces and visitors respect neighbouring properties.
Being an outdoor experience we expect there will be more and less favourable weather conditions at certain times of the year. We will always strive to ensure your experience is delivered, however should we be faced with forecasted severe weather, we will contact you to rearrange your visit.
Unfortunately, due to the terrain of our land, the site is unsuitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. We are located on a hillside and a reasonable level of fitness is required to complete the alpaca trail.
If you have allergies to animals, hay, straw or dust our farm is most likely not the best place for you.
We are happy to reschedule your booking to another day and time (subject to availability as shown on our online booking calendar). This can be done through your booking confirmation email via the 'Change/Cancel Appointment' option.
For cancellations, a refund will be issued, however a 2% charge will be deducted to cover the cost of our fees.
To make changes to a booked experience, for example adding participants, please email us on bookings@bonnieandfriendsfarm.co.uk so we can manually adjust the booking.
Any changes to bookings must be notified 24 hours in advance of the booked experience start time for us to accommodate these.
Any cancellations received within 24 hours of the booked experience will NOT be eligible for a refund.
